Meet Francisco
Francisco is a dynamic manager at Grant Thornton Dutch Caribbean, with a dedicated focus on Grant Thornton Suriname. With more than 11 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors, he brings a rare blend of audit expertise and strategic advisory insight to organizations across Suriname and the wider Dutch Caribbean.
His career began in the Netherlands, where he spent nearly five years as a financial auditor at the Central Government Audit Service (Ministry of Finance). From there, Francisco expanded his impact as a senior consultant and later manager at Baker Tilly Netherlands, specializing in governance, risk management, and finance & control.
Since joining Grant Thornton in July 2024, Francisco has continued to guide organizations in strengthening their internal structures. His areas of focus include internal audits, risk frameworks, policy design, internal controls, and process optimization. He has led the implementation of internal audit functions, mapped high-risk processes, and advised clients on aligning governance with models like the Three Lines of Defense.
Francisco holds a Master of Science in Management from the Open Universiteit Nederland, a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Nyenrode Business University, and completed the Baker Tilly Executive Leadership Program at Nyenrode in 2023. As Office Lead for Grant Thornton Suriname, he combines technical excellence with leadership to deliver lasting value to clients.
